Yessir, Drake’s first single for his debut album, Thank Me Later, was released ahead of schedule, while I was enjoying the Cocoa Sarai album release party. (You’re a jerk, 40. ) But after my first two or three listens, I’m a little on the fence about it, especially for it being a first official single; but it’s growing on me.

I think it’d definitely be easier to accept it, if it was instead a “street single” or a leak. But besides that tho, I think it does knock hard. I’m just not really feeling the hook yet, nor how the beat switches during the “I’m doing me”s. For me, that whole part barely worked during the intro.
Regardless, I’m sure you’ll find me blasting it…and tweeting it as a tough track at some point. Smh.
