I’ve been looking for books that match my typographical vision for the poetry project I’m working on. So I was pretty excited when I first stumbled upon Taxi Driver Wisdom – a book of short witty and quasi-philosophical quotes from NYC Taxi Drivers, collected by Risa, and featuring photography from Joanne Dugan. Peep a few excerpts below and consider buying the book on Amazon or Barnes N Nobles.

AS SOON AS YOU
MEET SOMEONE,
YOU KNOW THE
REASONS WHY
YOU WILL
LEAVE THEM.

I SEE MORE OF
WHAT IS GOING
ON AROUND ME
BECAUSE I AM
NOT CONCERNED
WITH FINDING A
PARKING PLACE.

IF YOU’RE A SMART
PERSON, YOU CAN SEE
WHAT’S SMART ABOUT
THE NEXT GUY.
IF YOU’RE SECRETELY
AFRAID YOU’RE A
MORON, OKAY,
THEN TO YOU,
EVERYBODY’S A MORON.

Taxi Driver Wisdom is a super short and enjoyable read. (I started and finished it one morning while killing time in Barnes N Nobles.) There are several quotes in the book that I’m sure many would find tweetable or quite worthy of their email signatures; and, it’s design is an eye catcher that would look great on your coffee or magazine table.

Have you read Taxi Driver Wisdom? How’d you feel about some of the quotes
