The Resistance by Jemar Souza

I wanna resist success,
And all of its residuals;

But I’m attracted to it,

As its pluses
And negatives

Spark a bright light,
In this white knight like
Peasant Kid.

But hopefully my poems
Will still flow -
Unlike like ohms -
To the souls of my homes,

If I should find myself lost
In what I have started -

A dearly departed departure
From The Ark
That I have architected,

To change the direction
Of my bredren,

And my brothers, mothers,
And sisters of the world,

Fathers too,
And every little girl,

And Boy,
to make noise,

And say that

We are here
And shall not fear,

The success of those
That we hold high,
But do not care

About us.

But trust,
I still think that I can do it,

The right way.

So I shall resist no more,
And go through it,

My way.
