This is a different take on a poem about a moment in my life on April 20, 2010. I haven’t yet shared the original poem on the blog. But peep the comment section for more details.

Things Are Not Always As The Seam (Retold)
by Jemar Souza

Things are rough at times;
But your eyes
Wander to my things.

Unfortunate
To what fortunes
Have once been.

Helping hands held back by pride
And the thought, it could be lies.

Unrealizing
My only hope
Lies in your ignorance.

Close your eyes,
Hear my words,

Listen
For the sincerity.

Place the bet on what you give,

Will bless a needing life,
For an eternity.
