Wise Words are words of advice from people working in the arts and entertainment industry. But they won’t just give me advice, they’ll also provide some to themselves. These words are from the man Chaise Marcel. Enjoy and learn something.

A strong brand will obtain a strong following.
Always use your individuality to make yourself powerful, because people will disregard your work if you disregard your own talent and capability. Never forget that you’re an artist creating and communicating to the masses with your work. Sometimes I spend months on one song because I don’t want ANYONE to think anything less than, “Wtf this song is cold as hell….”.
Personally, I gotta take even more chances than I normally do. I feel like I’m limiting myself by hesitating when it comes to music. Innovate. Deliver. Believe.
Chaise Marcel is a DJ and producer from Chi-town, Illinois. He’s produced songs for several artists – including Donnis, Mic Terror, Dave Coresh, Vic Mensa – and has been on so many DJ Benzi mixtapes that he’s lost count. He’s also DJ’d for a number of artists – including Naledge and Rhymefest – as well as the boutique empire, Akira Chicago.
Recently, Chaise finished a huge project with N*E*R*D, Diplo, and DJ Benzi for a new group called Mansions on The Moon, which should be out any day now. He’s also finishing up the official remix to Mike Posner’s “Please Don’t Go”, working on a solo EP, working on a mixtape with Stefan Ponce, and also doing some songs/collaborations that he promises are gonna be insane.
And somewhere, in the midst of all this madness, Chaise Marcel (which is his gov’t first and middle name), finds time to consume on average 3 pizzas a week, and study space and physics. Ha! Sounds like he’d fit right in with me, my boy John, and cousin Germaine, as we lamp on the couch, watching Nat Geo and Science Channel specials.
Follow Chaise on Twitter, stalk him on Facebook, and dabble your ears into his SoundCloud or MySpace.
